FAS American Ash Architrave
Known botanically as Fraxinus Amerciana, American White Ash or just American Ash is a high shock resistance, durable hardwood which relative to its weight is very robust. When used as an architrave you can expect a beautiful eye catching grain and a gentle colour, fitting in well with classic spaces.
Boasting exceptional Janka hardness, American Ash Architrave has good resistance to marking and damage, similar to American White Oak, despite being much lighter.

- Flexible:Suitable for a variety of joinery. American White Ash can be easily machined, sanded, glued and stained/finished.
- Hardy: Combining its unique shock resistance properties and a strong Janka hardness of 1320 lbf, American Ash is ideal for high traffic environments such as architrave.
- Quality aesthetic:With a strong grain which can be further enhanced by staining due to its large pore structure, expect American Ash Architrave to be draw attention.
- Stability:Supplied kiln dried and also thermo modified thanks to its superb stability throughout the drying process. American Ash has very little moisture movement.

Typically favoured in more traditional spaces due to its unique grain you can combine Architrave with both flooring and American Ash Skirting for a complete aesthetic.

IWA5 – Lambs Tongue: Perfect for traditional aesthetics, this profile starts with a small square edge along the top and slopes down and out.
Sustainability
American Ash grows throughout the eastern area of North America forests with mixed hardwood species. Whilst there are some concerns surrounding American Ash’s standing stock thanks to long term threat from pests and disease, Ash is a prolific species carefully harvested from well-maintained forests.
Care and Maintenance
Caring for your American Ash Architrave as with any internal joinery should include regular dusting and only mild cleaners. For treated American Ash Architrave ensure recoating is done as suggested by manufacturer to ensure that emphasised grain from treatment stays prominent.

Delivery day
Our delivery lorries visit different parts of the country on different days, so once your order is ready we will work with you to arrange a delivery day for when one of our lorries is in your area. We will always arrange the delivery day in advance with you.
Delivery times
We deliver weekdays Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 5pm. Our delivery vehicles will have multiple jobs on them which can affect the delivery time to you, depending on factors such as traffic and how long it takes to offload the previous jobs. The driver will call you in advance with an estimated time of arrival to make sure you'll be there.
The ordering process
After placing your order securely online you receive an email confirming the items you have ordered. When your order has arrived at iWood HQ and is ready for dispatch, we will give you a call to arrange delivery.
Can I order samples?
Yes you can, you can order samples of certain timbers online. If the species you need isn't there please give us a call or talk to us on our online chat.
The timbers shown are planed all round samples and are not profiled.
