Sustainability
Due to being an exotic tropical timber, sustainability is an important consideration. The Iroko tree is a plentiful timber species and can be found in a several African regions, namely, Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon and the Ivory Coast.
These regions, through proper maintenance and sustainable forestry practices ensure that Iroko can be used globally as an excellent Teak substitute and an overall exceptional timber product.
Care and Maintenance
Iroko is naturally durable and can be left untreated, even externally. However, like all timber, when exposed to UV it will begin to silver-grey. This can be prevented with a UV oil or wood stain.
Use a mild soap and water when cleaning Iroko architrave, harsh chemicals may strip away its natural oils and reduce durability.
